My BaBy BoY iS TuRnInG 5, Holly COW!

I can't believe my little MAN is turning 5 years old! I still clearly remember the day I had him.

Due to our move being in the middle of his birthday we kept it real simple. Had a cake some gifts and his cousins over. He had a blast and didn't even realize that he didn't have a big shin dig.

I decided at the last minute just to make his cake. It was cheaper and I think it tasted better! He really liked it!

They got a kick out of the black frosting turning there mouths and tounges black!

Aron bought him his first remote control car. He loves it, except he forgets to turn it off so the batteries go dead. Luckily the batteries are rechargable.

Moving & Ice Cream

We are moving!! It is something that we have been thinking about for a while now, and due to a simple joke gone bad at work we have decided to just go for it. There are things that we love about living in New Mexico but have felt since the instant that we returned that we made the wrong choice. We are going to miss our friends and family dearly but are excited to move back to the Pacific NW were we also have friends and family. I'm getting to be quite the pro at this. It's happening a little sooner than we originally thought, but we will be moving to washington state september 3rd. As of now we do not have a place so we will be staying with aron's dad (hopefully not to long). Aron is leaving the police force and venturing into the world of owning your own business. Once we get a home I will let everyone know. We are very excited to move back up to washington and see what the next chapter in our crazy lives will be!

In the meantime the kids and I needed a break!
An ICE CREAM BREAK!

So we headed down to the Vanilla Moose with our free tokens (he he Aron had a couple left he found in his car and gave them to the kids) and had some good old fashioned ice cream.

Lightning McQueen Says His Prayers

What a sweet little girl I have. I was coming down the hallway when I heard Abby saying her prayers, but she was saying it in her play voice, which I knew that meant she was role playing. So I grabbed my camera and quietly walked down to her room and peeked in. She was sitting there with her cars on her road map in her room. The cars were at the church and Lightning McQueen was leading them in prayer. For those of you who don't know who that is, he is the main character in the pixar Disney movie Cars. It is still one of her absolute favorite movies. She plays with her cars almost every day, and the only cars she will play with is the cars from the movie cars.

When I asked her what she was doing, she told me that her cars were at church saying there prayers. She was a little embarrassed when she noticed I was watching her. It made me feel so good to know in her mind she was teaching and setting an example to her little toys, bringing them to church and having them say their prayers. Love her so much!!!

Abigail's First Haircut

She is 3 years old and just now getting her first haircut. I have been so scared to touch it for fear I would do something wrong. It was finally time though for a good trim and it was getting so long it was hard to manage. Aron's been asking me for a while now when I was going to get to it, SO I finally decided to give it a try the other day. I cut Dalan's hair all the time just fine, and when I was younger I used to cut my sisters hair and my friends. Just trims nothing fancy, but something about cutting my daughters hair for the first time was freaking me out! When Dalan gets his cut he always gets a sucker, so she insisted on her sucker right away. She did really good, but eventually was tired of sitting there. I can't say that I am 100% thrilled with the job I did, but at least it wasn't a train wreck in the end! BUT next time I think that I will let someone else do it for me. It especially didn't help with Aron watching me every second telling me to just put it in a ponytail and cut it off! Eventually after almost taking his head off, he went and sat down on the couch and left me alone. All in all it turned out alright, but I don't think I will do it again.

Quotes I Like

I just thought I would list some of my favorite quotes on here. I used to keep a little book that I would add them to, but I haven't done that in a while. So I thought I would try it on here. On a occasion when I find a new quote I like, I will update this.

"No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say thy work is done."- Joseph Smith

"He who is offended when offense is not intended, is a fool; he who is offended when offense is intended, is a greater fool." --Brigham Young

"Always remember that if this were not the Lord's work, the adversary would not pay any attention to us."—Spencer W. Kimball

"And now, I hope it is clearer why part of that hope in Christ is hope in the future, a future that includes resurrection and salvation and exaltation. He is my hope on rainy Monday mornings, my hope on dark nights, and my hope in the face of death and despair."
--Chieko N. Okazaki

“A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for”

“A new baby is like the beginning of all things-wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities.”--Eda J. Le Shan

"Forgiveness is one of the attributes of God. If you can't forgive, then you are not like the Saviour and our Heavenly Father. And if you're not like our God and like his Son, then you cannot find a fulness of joy."
--Joseph Smith

"Sometimes things happen that give a man cause to hate someone else. It may even be a good reason. So he takes hate to his bosom and holds it close, like he's afraid it will slip away from him if he lets go. But it's like putting a prairie rattlesnake inside your shirt. No matter how good a reason you may have for doing so, your're going to be the one who gets bit."

"If a man does not properly love and cherish his wife in this life and take care of her, he will not be privileged to have her in the next" - Joseph Smith

"Since when is a great man's self-respect lessened by his washing a dish or sweeping a floor?" - Emma Smith

Frodo-"I wish none of this had happened" Gandalf-"So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, besides the will of evil." - Lord of the Rings

"The past is behind--we must learn from it. The future is ahead--we must prepare for it. The present is now—we must live in it." - Thomas S. Monson

"Sisters, don't be afraid to be different in our century! Sometimes we have to be different in order to maintain Church standards. So I repeat, don't be afraid to be different, but be as good as you can be." - James E. Faust

"It is wonderful to know that our Heavenly Father loves us--even with all our flaws! His love is such that even should we give up on ourselves, He never will." - I don't know, stole it from Cindy R.'s blog, maybe she said it?

...beginnings are scary, endings are usually sad, but it's the middle that counts the most. Try to remember that when you find yourself at a new beginning. Just give hope a chance to float up. And it will.... -Birdee Pruitt *Hope Floats.

Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. -Ferris Bueller *Ferris Bueller's Day Off

What we do in life, echoes in eternity. -Maximus *Gladiator

Life is not measured by the breaths you take...but by the moments that take your breath away.

First Day of Preschool

He is growing to FAST! Today was his first day of preschool. My little man is almost 5. We decided to put him into another year of preschool instead of enrolling him in kindergarten this year. After talking with many other moms and school teachers we thought this was the best course of action for him. His birthday is right on the deadline and we thought we would give him another year to mature a little. This way when he does start he will be the oldest in his class instead of the youngest. He absolutely loves his teacher Mrs. Jody Evans. She is the sweetest thing ever and does wonders with her kids.

I tell him all that time, Dalan you need to stop growing, he just smiles and tells me that he is going to grow BIG! I hate to burst his bubble, that he won't be to big with his dad's short genes!

Mickey Mouse Pancakces!

So I have been wanting to attempt to make mickey mouse pancakes for my kids for a while now. They both love pancakes, and I try to make them every Saturday for them. Aron kept telling me just make some cirlces on the griddle and call them good. But NO I wanted the best mickey mouse pancakes that I could make for my kids. So I went on ebay and bought a mickey mouse pancake mold, mine were going to be perfect! Didn't go so well, once I got the batter in there I had to figure out how to flip them without the excess batter running everywhere. Also they were so small that my kids ate them in seconds and wanted more, while I was over slaving over the stove trying to make these perfect pancakes. I learned my lesson real quick and decided to try Aron's way. They came out so much better, and as you can see on my kids face they loved them. They talked about there Mickey Mouse Pancakes all day! So after a little money and time the mold will now be made into a cookie cutter for another day.

Day at the Fair

So last week the family had a little outing to the county fair. We didn't manage to get out there until around 2:oo which made for some hot weather, but we managed. First we went inside the vendor building and got all the freebies. In the back corner they had a reptile section. They had a little baby alligator there which Dalan was able to pet. He thought that was really cool, Abby wouldn't go near it. They also both were able to see lots of snakes, lizards, turtles, and spiders. Then we went and looked at all the farm animals. When we went in to see the bunnies I really thought Abby would be excited and pet one because she always jumps around the house claiming that she is a bunny. But she wouldn't touch them at all and would hardly look at me so that I could take a picture. Dalan loved them though as well as the cows and pigs. Aron braved it all, but I could tell he didn't like all the smells and flies and manure. He is not an animal man! Afterwards the kids were able to pick one thing to eat, we tried to persuade them with corndogs but the big ice cream sign caught Dalans eye right away and he was set on a chocolate ice cream cone. Abby is not a big ice cream eater but loves pops or juice, she was all to excited when Dad mentioned she could have her own fresh lemonade with a lemon in it! All in all we had fun, the rides were not going until later and Dalan came up with his own reasoning that they must be down due to the wind (there was no wind) so he said that the next day we would have to come back and ride the rides when the wind wasn't blowing.

5 Months Pregnant

This picture was taking by Dalan. He missed my head, but it ended up being a good profile pic of my belly. So here I am at 5 months of pregnancy!

Monday, August 11, 2008

I have decided to start blogging thanks to some friends blogs that have inspired me. I do not keep a journal and I cringe when I think of all I a missing writing down about my life and my childrens. Even though I cringe I still can not remember to write in my journal. SO I thought I would give this a try. I love to work on the computer, I am a little knowlegable in HTML and I love to take pics of my children.

I am currently married to my best friend, Aron, we have been married for 8 years, some of the best and most challenging years of my life. We are both very similiar in the dreams and hopes that we have for our life and the lives of our children. I love that he is a dreamer and is ready at any moment for a new challenge in our life. He does a great job at keeping the romance alive in our marriage and he never misses a day to let me know that he loves me! He is currently a police officer of 4 years now.

We now have two children and a third baby girl on her way due at Christmas time! Dalan is 4 (5 in 2 weeks) and will start preschool for his second year. He is a very bright child whom suprises me every day with the things he comes up with to say. He loves life and is a very caring little spirit! Abigail keeps us on our toes. She is very quiet around those she doesn't know, but at home she is a totally different girl. She has a mind of her own and a very strong personality, it is her way or the highway, I see some challenges between her and I in the future with our heads butting together. All the same I love my little princess more than words can express. I'm excited for our third to come and see her little personality.

Life is great right now!! I have my bad days, but the good ones outweigh the bad!
